Fatal accident -Help needed with the funeral of my nephew, Joseph R Terry

My nephew, Joey was killed on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 while driving his moving truck on a 2 lane highway in Killington, Vermont, per police press release:

 

On 10/20/21 at 1012 hours Troopers from the VSP Rutland barracks responded to the area of the Killington flats and the Turn of the River Lodge, Box 5672 US 4 in the Town of Killington for a 3 car motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Killington Fire/Rescue, Regional Ambulance Service, and VSP Crash Reconstruction Team responded.

 

Investigation into the crash determined that a line of vehicle traffic was traveling eastbound on US 4. From the line of vehicles, two vehicles attempted to pass/overtake the lead vehicle; (a 20' Box truck). A collision between the two vehicles caused the vehicles to loose control, and one of the vehicles to then crash into the lead vehicle (a 20' Box truck). That second crash caused the lead vehicle to loose control, travel from the roadway, and overturn down a 15' embankment. The operator of the Box truck was found partially ejected and deceased. No other operators/passengers were injured.

My family is SO heart broken. Joey was an awesome guy. He was down to earth, would give the shirt off his back so to say to help someone in need! He loved music and was in bands since he was a teen, he so enjoyed making music, singing, playing drums, guitar, and piano. He was an only son and child to my sister, Debbie and step son to Gordie, my brother-in law, who are devastated. He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Nicky of almost 20 years.  They were an awesome couple.   Anyone who knew our Joe, knows what a great guy he was and will be SO missed! We are still in shock this has happened and how tragic this is to my family! I don't understand how people are in such a hurry.... to have a family like us loose a loved one due to others negligence, bad judgment, or whatever their reasons were to pass/overtake his vehicle makes me sad and mad at the same time.

 

Unfortunately Joe did not have life insurance and with it being a commercial vehicle, there is no death benefit coverage. Thus this Go Fund me is needed to help cover the transport of Joey's body back to New Jersey and for his funeral and other expenses incurred for Nicky, my family, and Mikey (his business partner). Any help is appreciated.
