Help Joseph Study Abroad in Spain

Hello Family & Friends:
Did you know most minorities never have the opportunity to study abroad or have even thought about it?
Not only do I have the opportunity to study abroad, but I, Joseph Eliot Carter, Jr., am able to fulfill a dream I have had since middle school.
I’m currently a Sophomore at Bethune - Cookman University and have been accepted into the CEA Program to study abroad in Alicante, Spain this summer and then in Barcelona, Spain my Junior year. This summer in Alicante, Spain I will be taking language intensive courses in Spanish and will earn 9 credit hours. During my Junior year, I will head to Barcelona, Spain to take courses in my major focusing on International Communications and Spanish. I’ve always had an interest in communications, global affairs and international studies and now have the opportunity to study in Spain not once, but twice.
My goal is to raise money to offset some of the costs associated with these experiences. Although I am working with my financial aid office and applying for scholarships, the amounts will not get me to my goal and the funds through those sources are not guaranteed. I need to raise $4,800 by this summer for my trip to Alicante and $7,200 for my Junior year trip to Barcelona.
Being able to have this study abroad experience will enhance my current accomplishments I have achieved at Bethune-Cookman including making the honor roll my Freshman year and the Dean’s List the first semester of my Sophomore year; being inducted into the Leadership and Success Honor Society, serving as treasurer of the VISION Public Relations organization and member of the HOLA Spanish club; and recently being selected as 1 of 3 students to create a radio broadcast that interviews local leaders in the community. Oh…and all while keeping a GPA over 3.0.
You can make a difference by making a donation to my GoFund page. No amount is too small and will truly be a blessing. I greatly appreciate your time and generous heart in helping me reach my educational goals.
Thank you for investing in the future by investing in my future!
