Jose’s pituitary gland tumor surgery

In the year 2020 he was diagnosed with a tumor in the pituitary gland which was operated on in February 2021, during that same year they gave us the bad news that the tumor had returned and that it was bigger than the previous one, it was pressing the optic nerves in his left eye and was causing blindness and excruciating headaches.

Due to his critical condition, the doctor scheduled his second surgery for June 29, 2022. Being aware of the risks that this surgery could involve, since the neurosurgeons mentioned the risks of having a much bigger tumor and the danger Losing vision in both eyes. Thank God the surgery was successful in removing 100% of the tumor. After the surgery José was admitted to the ICU intensive care unit, where he is still. It was required to place a lumbar drain to drain the cerebrospinal fluid, since this fluid was in his brain and caused intense headaches, therefore the fluid had to be drained. Within days of having the drain, José began with a very high temperature, disorientation, memory loss. The nurses had to tie him to immobilize him and prevent him from hurting himself. In the analyzes of the lumbar drainage, a bacterial infection was detected, which required emergency antibiotics and delayed his recovery, for now he continues to be hospitalized With antibiotics, medication for the headache and extreme exhaustion. Since he has not been able to rest because he is assigned hourly review to check his vital signs, evaluation of confusion and laboratory tests.

The reason why we went to Gofundme to be able to cover the general expenses that have arisen and we are going to require for the time in which he is hospitalized and the months that he will have to recover since he will not be able to work and we will not have income to cover needs basic, for me it is very difficult to come to you but this situation forces me to ask for help since I will not be able to do it without your support. Hola me llamo Alejandro, Soy esposo de Jose quien está atravesando por una situación difícil de Salud. Quiero comentarte nuestra historia:

En el año 2020 fue diagnosticado con un tumor en la glándula pituitaria el cual fue operado en el febrero del 2021, durante ese mismo año nos dieron la mala noticia de que el tumor había regresado y que era más grande que el anterior, estaba presionado los nervios ópticos en su ojo izquierdo y le estaba provocando ceguera e insoportables dolores de cabeza.

Debido a su estado crítico, el doctor programó su segunda cirugía para el 29 de junio del año presente 2022. Siendo conscientes de los riesgos que ésta cirugía pudiera implicar, ya que los neurocirujanos mencionaron los riesgos de tener un tumor mucho más grande y el peligro de perder la visión de ambos ojos. Gracias a Dios la cirugía tuvo el éxito de extirpar el 100% del tumor. Después de la cirugía José fue ingresado a ICU unidad de cuidados intensivos, donde el todavía se encuentra. Fue requerido colocar un drenaje lumbar para drenar el líquido cefalo raquídeo, ya que esté líquido se encontraba en su cerebro y provocaba intensos dolores de cabeza por lo tanto el líquido debía ser drenado. A los días de tener el drenaje, José empezó con temperatura muy alta, desorientación, pérdida de memoria. Los enfermeros tuvieron que atarlo para inmovilizarlo y evitar que el se hiciera daño. En los análisis del drenaje lumbar se detectó una infección bacteriana por lo cual requería antibióticos de emergencia y retrasando su recuperación, por ahora continua hospitalizado Con antibióticos medicamento para el dolor de cabeza y agotamiento extremo. Ya Que no ha podido descansar porque tiene asignado revisión cada hora para revisar sus signos vitales, evaluación de la confusión y pruebas de laboratorio.

La razón porque la que acudimos a Gofundme para poder cubrir los gastos generales que han surgido y vamos a requerir por el tiempo en el que se encuentre hospitalizado y los meses que que tendrá que recuperarse ya que no podrá trabajar y no tendremos ingresos para cubrir necesidades básicas, para mi es muy difícil acudir a ustedes pero esta situación me obliga a pedir ayuda ya que no podré hacerlos sin su apoyo. Yo he tenido que pedir un permiso en el trabajo para poder estar todos los días, ya que es necesario estar dando los cuidados básicos cómo alimentarlo, ayudarle a hacer sus necesidades ya que no puede levantar de la cama, porque al movilizarse se corre el riesgo de bloquear el drenaje lumbar y provocar alguna complicación en su cabeza.
