Josh and Amanda: Hope Through Heartache

Donation protected
Five years ago when Josh and Amanda met, they were immediately drawn to each other. It was obvious from the start that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and start their own family.

Just before they got married, Josh and Amanda found out that due to a rare degenerative disease, they could not start their family without the risk of passing the disease on to their children. They felt crushed by this diagnosis, knowing that the disease would change the rest of their lives, and possibly prevent them from having a family of their own.

The heartache they were experiencing led them to begin researching their options. They learned that the only way they could have biological children was through IVF with genetic testing. Learning they could safely bring a baby into their lives gave them a sense of hope for what their future could look like.

With their renewed hope, they scheduled their first consultation for IVF with a fertility doctor and financial advisor. They received the devastating news that the treatments they need would be well outside of what they could afford. Their insurance would not cover any of the costs, and all of their expenses would need to be paid out-of-pocket. They were heartbroken to learn that the total costs amounted to a staggering price of $35,000. Josh and Amanda found themselves facing the same heartache of wondering if they would ever be able to have a family.

Through the love and support of friends and family, Josh and Amanda realized that it is okay to reach out for help when the future feels hopeless. They made the decision to move forward with IVF and place their faith in God, knowing that one day they would be able to start the family they have dreamt of. Any amount of money that you are able to contribute puts Josh and Amanda one step closer to starting their family, and brings them hope through their heartache.
