Help Josh "Brace-Face" Carlile Pay for Jaw Surgery

Hey y'all, I'm Josh. I've been in braces since September 2021 which has been a journey in itself, but it's become obvious that I will need jaw surgery to finish the process -- I'll leave the more complicated explanation down below. The low down: I need to come up with $26,500 by the end of 2023 for this surgery since insurance will not cover any of it (again, details below).
The deets: When I started braces, we knew that I would need some sort of correction for my underbite, but now that we're closer to the end of braces it's become obvious that I'll need my bottom and top jaws adjusted to compensate for my underbite. There are a couple of other options, but they would all be expensive and likely lead to further complications. Thus, surgery is the only long-term solution. I have a surgeon selected who has been working with my Orthodontist to nail down an exact date for surgery, but it will be around October / November 2023. The Benefits of Surgery • I'll get far fewer cavities ('cause my teeth won't cut through floss anymore) • My teeth will wear slowly & evenly (as they're supposed to) • TMJ issue will be solved as my joints will be set correctly • I'll finally be able to eat onion rings The Benefits of Getting Surgery Funded • Bible College! I've considered attending, but right now it's not feasible because of this expense. • I'll be much freer to host friends, neighbors, and coworkers if my time and income are freed up! • I can donate my skills! I have training as a worship leader, barista, and financial coach but currently have to leverage those skills to save money for Jaw Surgery. I've been blown away by everyone's generosity through finances, time together, providing meals and coffee and fun... it's truly amazing and isn't lost on me that not everyone has a community surrounding them. I could name 50 people who are showing how Jesus glues people together with love. Thank you a million times :)
