Josh Casino's Dental Needs

Many of you will know my husband, Josh Casino at the least as an extremely talented photographer, if not a steadfast friend and mental and chronic illness advocate. Josh is generally very vocal about his health struggles but due to heavy societal stigma he has kept his dental health issues relatively close to his chest.

Josh is suffering from severe periodontitis and is in daily pain. He has recently lost another tooth to gum disease. Left untreated this will destroy the jaw bone leading to further loose or lost teeth. As a freelance photographer working only when his chronic inflammation allows he has been without substantial dental insurance for many years.

Listed below are the most urgent treatments recommended last time he was able to see his dentist in NYC.

Around the time we met in 2018 he was working on a project that meant he could start treatment with a payment plan from a trusted dentist in NYC. But after physical dental appointments being on hold during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and the events he would usually work as a photographer ceasing to exist his treatment plan collapsed. Even as events like gigs and weddings began to pick up – money has been tight even when I was approved for work, and neither Medicaid nor my job provided insurance could cover what he needs. Even with my new job and potential freelance jobs worked around Josh's arthritic condition there's no way we can cover the work he so desperately needs or even take a loan from family or friends to cover it.

The situation is critical at this point and cannot go untreated.
