Josh Garrison's family expense
Donation protected
Josh Garrison, father, husband, Navy Veteran.
Many have texted and called requesting how to help. Due to food multiple food allergies, fear of Covid, and now the expense of traveling to another state, we all fell the best way to assist at this time would be to begin a Go Fund Me.
Josh thought he had a light case of covid beat! This is not the case, the day the family was going to end quarantine and move back together, Josh blacked out while cooking dinner for the twins. After resting he could not get his heart rate to be less than 145-155, his oxygen saturation was only 70%. His father-in-law, Mark quickly gave him 2 back to back breathing treatments, placed him on 4 LPM oxygen, and rushed him to Titus Regional Medical Center. He was admitted to the Covid floor where he continued to decline, CT and X-ray confirmed severe covid pneumonia. He was later also found to be fighting covid bacteria in his blood (septic). After struggling from nasal cannula, mask, bi pap, he was unfortunately forced to be intubated, put in paralysis state to not fight the vent. Along with the ventilator, he has been given 2 rounds of convalescent plasma (covid antibodies). His amazing nurses and doctors searched and found him a bed with a ECMO machine to beat help his body rid itself of the covid bacteria and allow the blood to carry the oxygen needed to provide the next level of care to bring him home. As you can imagine this is not going to be an easy or cheap adventure. The ECMO machine is in either LSU Shreveport or one in Little Rock.
He proud of his work, he is a truck driver and as many of you know if the wheels aren’t rolling that means that needs are being met like they need to be. This family is experiencing so many struggles and fears. Many messages are flooding in from friends, family (relatives and military) all wanting to know how to help.
We have decided this page would be the best to help and assistance that you can give with the Covid separation from deliveries, Ciannah’s severe allergies has a specific diet for her safety that the family must follow, and now being away with the travel, lodging, and of course bills that their daddy normally took care of coming in as he was the family’s main source of income is now limited. The family wants to stress that the appreciate and feel all the love as well as see your prayers guiding his recovery! If you feel led to donate to ease this time for them please do so in any amount.
It’s Christmas, the children’s prayer is that their dad coming home to be with them on this special day.
Prayer alone with the Lord is powerful. Prayer with the community is most powerful, for the Lord himself said: “Where two or three are gathered in my name I am in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).
