Josh Holbrook Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Deann and I'm fundraising for funeral services for my cousin, Joshua Holbrook, who died recently at the age of just 43.
Josh's story is one that has become painfully familiar to so many families. Josh was a sweet and wonderful child and a gentle soul as he grew to be a young man, full of the promise that life holds .He was gifted in art and music. He became a husband and twice a father. He was a hard worker at various jobs.
He was also addicted to drugs for 17 years.
This became the fight of his life, with hopeful ups and heartbreaking downs for both him and the people who loved him.
But ultimately it did not define his life.
In the last 4 years, Josh was able to enjoy the peace that comes with being free from addiction. Most people call it being "clean," but when you love someone who is trapped by drugs, they are never " dirty" to you. They are your beloved person who needs help. Josh found that professional help along with a burning, passionate faith in Christ that sustained him.
He worked every day to pass on the hope, the grace, the healing, and the love that was poured out on him as he faithfully made meals and bought personal items at his own expense, and delivered them to the homeless and addicted. He had known homelessness and hunger and addiction and pain. He dedicated himself to helping others and was in the process of dedicating the rest of his life to being a behavioral health technician working with others in recovery. Sadly, the life he had lived took its toll on his health and cut short his dreams.
Monies collected through this campaign will assist with funeral expenses. Monies left over will be shared with the three entities that Josh worked with:
*Fighting Chance
*Full Circle
*Joshua House ( now Holbrook's House of Hope)
We will continue to love Josh. We can no longer shower our love on him, but we will do our best to continue the legacy that he started with those who are still fighting for their lives. They still have a chance and we hope to honor Josh by giving hope to those still in the fight.
Thank you and God bless you for considering giving to this campaign.
Sincerely, the Family of Joshua Wade Holbrook
