Josh Jasek Medical and Recovery Fund

Hi, my name is Taylor and I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Josh Jasek & his family. On April 22nd Josh woke up in terrible pain and could barely walk. McKenna (his wife) took him to the doctor and Josh ended up being admitted to the hospital to have his first of many surgeries. Josh ended up having a very serious infection in his leg that ended up being positive for a strep infection. After 4 days of being in the hospital, Josh was released. Unfortunately, he was still having symptoms from his infection that steadily got worse after he got home. Fortunately, Mckenna rushed Josh into Austin and took him to St. Davids to the ER where they later admitted him into the surgical ICU. Had McKenna not taken Josh when she did he would not be here today. Josh's infection ended up turning into flesh-eating bacteria and he had to have wound vacs placed in several spots in his leg. After a few days in the surgical ICU and a few more surgeries, Josh made progress and was finally considered stable and moved to a regular room. As of 5/7/23 Josh is stable and will be able to keep his leg, but will still have at least 1-3 more surgeries on his leg. The doctors are estimating at least another 2 weeks in the hospital and a long recovery after, and don't anticipate perminant damage. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help with medical and miscellaneous expenses occurred while Josh is in the hospital and once he is home recovering. Doctors anticipate that Josh will be unable to work for at least 6 months while he is healing and learning to use his leg again, and McKenna has already missed work to be with Josh and travels back and forth frequently between LaGrange and Austin. All donations will go straight to the Jasek family to use on these expenses. Josh and McKenna could use our help and appreciate everyone who has already helped or asked how they can help.
