This is our best friend, Josh, with his 17-month-old son Remy. Together with his wife Maggie, they have been dedicated to their beloved community of Thornbury and committed so much of their lives to bringing togetherness and joy through their small business, Think Thornbury.
Not only is Josh an amazing dad and partner, but Josh is also a mainstay of the Melbourne music scene, playing saxophone with 30/70 as well as his own project JK Group and his PBS young elder of jazz commission - Displacement.
What should be a happy time in his life, enjoying his new son, loving wife and emerging career as a musician, has sadly become a situation that no one should have to go through.

For the last 2 years, Josh has struggled with his health while juggling his busy music career, running Think Thornbury with Maggie and becoming a father for the first time. He humbly and quietly sought treatment for chronic and exhausting symptoms that the doctors never seemed to have an answer for. Not one to complain, not many people would know that Josh has already been battling his illness for 2 years, and on the 19th of August, he finally received a diagnosis of Hodgkins Lymphoma.
The next 6-12 months will be undoubtedly tough for Josh and his family as he undergoes treatment. Fortunately, treatment options are good, and he is young and otherwise healthy so he is well placed to give a good fight! He is facing 6 months of chemotherapy followed by radiation therapy which will be significantly debilitating.
There are going to be significant costs for Josh and Maggie while Josh is undergoing treatment, including his loss of income, living expenses, childcare and the financial impacts that will come from Maggie having to run their small business alone. Knowing Josh would do the same for his friends, we are reaching out to ask that you generously donate to help Josh, Maggie and Remy through this incredibly difficult time.
