Josh Reed Recovery Fund
Donation protected
On Wednesday, November 13, Josh was in a tragic motorcycle accident on his way home in L.A. Josh was able to get off the road, and a passerby stopped to call 911 and began administering first aid.
He broke both arms, did extensive damage to his left hand, and doctors were forced to amputate his right leg above the knee in order to save his life.
Josh has now undergone 5 surgeries to his leg, hand and arms. All MRI and CT scans have been clear. Thankfully, his helmet and backpack protected his head, face and spine, and he does not have internal bleeding. The Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. has been tremendous, but he has a very long road to recovery ahead.
Thank you all for the outpouring of love you have shown during this time. For those asking how they can help, I believe there are two things that will be most helpful.
1) We covet your prayers for Josh’s healing, and for the physical and emotional strength he will need.
2) Any financial contribution you are able to make would be so very appreciated, as Josh transitions from hospital to rehabilitative care, and then explores options for prosthetics.
I will share updates with the group concerning his progress.
Thank you all for your love and support.
Sincerely,
Melinda Benkovsky (Josh’s sister)
