ABOUT JOSH:

Josh Stoddard passed from this world on December 7, 2021, but his love, creativity and humanity continue to radiate.

Josh was an artist, co-founding the Still Out. He was a healer, creating nationally sought-after sound baths and deeply-felt solo work. He was a visual storyteller, creating innovative music videos. And he played with many acclaimed bands like Bolts of Melody, Jody Porter & the Black Swans and Magnetic Morning.

Josh was a seeker, lover, jester, brother, son, uncle, best friend and inspiration. He lived in deep connection with others, drawing in people from all walks of life and forming new bonds at a fantastic rate, sparking true communion between those he brought together. He could be at once audacious and humble: Josh was forever open to new experiences and willing to leap into a new life at a moment's notice. He possessed great wisdom from experience and openly confided in others, and his relationships grew deeper for it. Josh was an exceptional comfort to so many.

He was also a funny man and prankster. He was a giant waffle at toll booths, and on tour buses, he was sometimes a gravel-throated old roadie named Ace. He loved making people laugh, and memorable, even magical, moments seemed to follow him everywhere. Josh got real and personal with recluses and rock stars alike. We miss him immensely.

THE EVENT

And so on October 20, 2022, at 9 p.m., Josh's loved ones are coming together for a tribute to honor him, tell stories and keep his memory and music alive. Members of Fountains of Wayne, Swervedriver/Bolts of Melody, The Roots, The Lemonheads, The Astrojet, Benzos, Caveman, Heaven and others will play alongside Josh and Arjun's band, the Still Out.

THE FUNDING

We're charging a modest entry fee to ensure that everyone who loved Josh can attend. We want to come away with a substantial donation in Josh's name, and we have many expenses, including airfare and accommodations for out-of-town musicians. All funds that exceed our costs will be donated to MusiCares, a cause Josh cared about that has helped many musicians in his orbit. MusiCares provides mental health and substance abuse services, medical care and other support to musicians in need.

We welcome you to this celebration of Josh's life and hope that you will participate in keeping his memory alive. Josh left our lives so much richer. By coming together to celebrate him, we hope that his spirit continues to grow and spread--and that he continues to spark new connections just as he always has.
