Josh & Jenny's Adoption Fund

Josh and I have been serving east Charlotte communities through our non profit, The Abandon Project, for 7 years now. Throughout that time we have built amazing and trustworthy relationships with our neighbors who we are honored to call our family.  For the past 2.5 years, Josh and I have been trying to grow our immediate family and always felt a burden to adopt locally because of the work that we do. During these 2.5 years, Jesus has given me many dreams of my little baby boy and even through our battle of struggling to conceive, we always believed his promise for our baby.  In November, I started praying that Jesus would bless us with a birth mama from our local community. 

On January 18th, Josh and I got a text from a lady in our community telling us that she was 8 months pregnant and would really appreciate it if Josh and I would be her baby's parents. I can't even begin to describe the joy, fear and emotion that came along with that text, and has carried over into today. 

Our baby is due February 12th, so as you can see we haven't had much time to prepare (less than 4 weeks if he comes on his due date)! During the past week (I am writing this January 26), we have met with our birth mom numerous times to take her to doctors appointments, scheduled a home study and have secured an amazing adoption attorney. I have also developed a really precious relationship with  our birth mom and have been able to pray with her and have many meaningful conversations. Throughout this scramble, Jesus has given us so much peace, joy and a love for our baby boy that we have never felt before. 

Adoption is such a beautiful experience, but also comes along with some pretty large expenses. We have invested in our home study and an amazing adoption attorney, but have so many more expenses coming our way before we get to have baby in our arms. These include, physical exams, birth mom's attorney, finger printing, expedited fees, filing fees and a few other home study outside requirements with addition to anything legal that may pop up.
