Hey guys,
Our names are Will and Hannah Knight. We were in a small group with Joshua and Laura Bowman for about a year and really grew close to them. Their friendship means so much to us, and we are hoping to see God's faithfulness and provision through this page for Joshua and Laura.
Joshua Bowman has been struggling with Crohn's Disease for the last several years. It has grown progressively worse over the last twelve months, and he has been hospitalized twice within the last few weeks. On the night of July 13, 2016, he was admitted to the hospital at UAB where he underwent emergency surgery. The surgery was able to successfully remove part of the colon that were severely affected by the Crohn's as well as other needed measures. Please pray that the surgery and the TPN that he is receiving will give his colon and his body the time to heal so that he can gain weight, grow stronger and ultimately be able to try a new Crohn's medication.
As you can imagine, Joshua and Laura will be facing a mountain of medical bills. Joshua has been unable to work for months due to his illness, and Laura has only been able to work very limited hours in her job as a dental hygienist, as she has been accompanying Joshua at his doctor's appointments and hospitalizations. Just like everyone else, this couple depends on their hard-earned money to pay for everyday expenses (mortgage, gas, insurance, etc). So, one can imagine the toll an illness like this can have on a family. This money will simply help them live. They face a recovery time that could possibly run into weeks, so any donations would be a financial blessing.
More than anything, we know that Joshua and Laura covet your prayers at this time. Please pray for Laura as she supports Joshua emotionally, especially when she cannot always be with him physically. Please pray for Avia, who misses her daddy. Please pray for Joshua who is not only physically exhausted, but also emotionally.
Any amount will help this selfless, caring family. Let's be the Body of Christ, the Church, to our brother and sister in need.
