Josh’s recovery fund
Donation protected
As many of you have heard about Joshua's bike accident and have expressed concern and support and have asked how you might be able to help. Allow me to fill everyone in on his status... On June 3, 2023 Joshua was training for his second Ironman competition coming up in Florida, when he was on his way back from a 40 mile bike ride, he was hit from behind and run over by a small car and dragged 75 feet across the pavement. By the grace of God my son is still alive. Joshua sustained several contusions on his head, 2 collapsed lungs, 4 broken ribs on his right side and 1 broken rib on his left side, a separted clavical, fractured pelvis in 3 different places and has over 17% severe road rash over his body. He has already undergone 6 surgeries and they have done several skin grafts. He has spent over 3 weeks in the hospital as of today, 1 week was spent in the ICU where he recieved excellent medical attention. Joshua has now been admitted to Rehab, where they will continue working with him to rebuild his strength and mobility. He still cannot walk. This will be a very long road to recovery indeed but he is determined to do what it takes to get there. All he wants is to recover safely and hopefully someday be able to do the sport that he loves again. His body may be broken but his spirit is not.
Update : June 28- Joshua has been readmitted back to Seton Dell ER from the Rehab center, has has spiked a fever and has an infection in his pelvis area. They will go in and drain the infection and have started him on antibiotics.
All funds received will be used to help pay for medical bills and other related recovery expenses that need to be taken care of. Your support is greatly appreciated.
