Josh Fitzpatrick’s Road to Recovery
Josh Fitzpatrick had an accident July 14, while driving a golf cart, barely nicking a wall and falling out, sustaining a significant head injury. After finding an epidural hematoma (bleed around the brain) and being intubated at Lake Regional, Josh was life flighted out to MU Hospital where underwent neurosurgery to remove the hematoma and reduce the swelling and pressure on his brain. Initially, the prognosis was not good but with the strength of an entire community praying for him and his family, miracles began to unfold. First, at least he was going to make it but was probably not ever going to be the same. Then God’s grace continued to heal him as the surgeon said he was doing better than first believed. Fast forward 24 hours and Josh is off the ventilator, is alert and oriented (but still groggy), knows his family’s names, has feeling and movement in all extremities and even stood up today for PT. The plan is to move down from ICU today.
Josh has a long road ahead of him of rehab and healing. His wife, Shana and 3 kids (one of which is an infant) are currently staying in an AirB&B in Columbia to try to stay close to him. Sheis a nurse and understands what lies ahead.
This family could use our help right now for medical expenses, AirB&B cost, time off work, and of course the upcoming rehab/therapy costs. The power of Jesus’s healing hand and prayer has pulled him through, let’s help them just focus on healing and rehabilitation. Thank you and keep praying! God is good. ✝️
