Joshua Needs Your Help
Donation protected
On Wednesday, February 17th, Joshua (six years old) was taken to Richmond Emergency, with signs of the flu. After multiple blood tests, it was discovered that his blood count was extremely low, so he was nurse-escorted by ambulance to Children's Hospital. An oncologist was waiting for the family. After running more tests, including a lumbar puncture, Joshua was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, an aggressive form of blood cancer.
Since being diagnosed, Joshua has undergone five blood transfusions and has started aggressive chemotherapy. The doctors have told them that they will continue to stay at the hospital for the next four to six months, depending on how Joshua responds to the treatment.
No parent should ever have to see their child suffer the way that Joshua has. Lia and Dagan have demonstrated such strength for their son, despite being beside themselves with grief.
This family needs our help. Life goes on - bills and mortgages need to be paid. Lia and Dagan should not have to worry about working to meet these needs while their son needs them by his side as he fights his biggest battle.
Any contribution will help and will be greatly appreciated. Let's rally as a community and show the Weekes family how much they are supported.
