Josh Posey Memorial Scholarship

My heart broke on Tuesday May 2nd 2017 when we learned that our beautiful son, Joshua Posey, 23, died in Austin Texas.
In his memory we have started this campaign to give a scholarship to a HS TWST swimmer. Our hopes are to help a senior get a start with their college career whether they are continuing with their swimming or not.
Josh loved fitness. Hiking, running, indoor rock climbing, yoga and weight lifting were among his favorite activities however he still had a special place in his heart for swimming.
Josh tried many sports during his childhood but he was always drawn to the pool. He had been a member of summer league teams in the many communities that we lived in. Once we moved to The Woodlands, TX he joined the USA club team, TWST, for 4 years. In addition, he spent 1 year on The Woodlands HS JV team and 1 1/2 years on the Varsity Swim team.
As he got older he regretted not continuing with his swimming but he tried to train when possible. Josh especially loved running and had recently ran his first 1/2 Marathon. He reflected with me after the race about his swim years at TWST and mentioned a couple coaches that truly made an impact on him. In addition he remembered his swim training and incorporated his training into his running. For that, I would like to thank all the coaches from the team during his time and say that you DO make a difference in all the kid's lives and futures.
Josh enjoyed helping people and I hope that in some small way this can help him continue giving. He will be remembered for his kindness, his wit and his unique way of listening to others and quickly connecting with those around him.
Thank you in advance for all your love and support and helping us remember him in this special way.
