Josiah Rasco Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected
I graduated from High School in May.  I have a scholarship in metal working.  I was in the process of setting up my internship when I got very sick.  It was not that different than other issues I had the last two years, so I was just treating it.  It was weird because I have been in COVID seclusion since mid March.

After 2 weeks of not getting better, we went to the emergency room and they diagnosed me with Leukemia.  It is quite a shock to have your life planned out, everything working according to plan, and after 2 weeks of a fever and sore throat the doctor says, "You have cancer."

Can you imagine what that feels like?  It makes you feel like your life is over before it even began.  I could not believe that a doctor, who just told me I have cancer, could ask me what my plans were for the future.  All I could say is, "Nothing Now!!!"

I know that was not the right response, but this is definitely a pause button in my life, and it required me to step back and figure out my plan forward.  Who thinks an 19 year old who did football, wrestling and started baseball could suddenly have life go on pause right when it was starting to ramp up.  All my plans have to change now and I have to find the new norm.

That is the purpose of this "GOFUNDME."  I need to pay for all the medical treatment I have received, which has been very good.  I have put my scholarship and internship on hold and I am learning what limitations I will have with the new me.

The treatment plan for me right now is to complete Chemo and then rebuild my immune system back up, which is 3 weeks in the hospital.  If my body responds well and the leukemia goes into remission, I will get to go home.  The doctors will finish their review of bone marrow donors and they get all the payments inline.  Then I will go back for another Chemo treatment followed by a bone marrow transplant.  For that I will be in the hospital ~1 to 3 months.

My prognosis is good because of my age, but it is not so good I can go without a transplant.  Without the transplant this will likely be back in a year, and like most diseases it will be harder to fight the second time.

Please help me get this done as quickly as possible and get my life back on track
.  Thank you for your help!!!
