Bone marrow transplant for Journey

This is beautiful, brave 8 year old Journey. She watched her faithful and valiant mama go through chemo and multiple surgeries for breast cancer for the last twelve months. Just when they thought things could settle down and take "normal" precautions for covid like the rest of us, it was Journey's turn to get acquainted with the Cancer Center. Turns out it isn't Leukemia, but MDS (which will cause leukemia in a very short time, and causes plenty of concerns of its own at present.) As soon as a match can be found she's headed to Boston for a bone marrow transplant. Melanie will be quarantined with her in the hospital for a month, then another two months living in Boston for follow up care. Journey’s dad, David, and two little brothers will be at home in Maine: a logistical, emotional, and financial burden, to be sure.
