Journey to Baby Martin

Donation protected
To our Family, Friends, and Supporters,

As many of you know, our journey to parenthood has taken a few more twists and turns than we had expected. Our newest update is that after Jacquie and I decided to move forward on our journey with reciprocal IVF (using embryos transferred from me while Jacquie physically carries), our first embryo transfer failed this week. It crushed us. We started trying to conceive in January 2023. Jacquie and I have both undergone a lot of blood work, genetic testing, and other diagnostic testing so far. Between January 2023 and July 2023, we underwent 4 rounds of IUI (intrauterine insemination), an egg retrieval, and an IVF cycle. Unfortunately, all of our attempts have been unsuccessful. Our Fertility doctor believes we have no reason to be concerned and should move forward with a second IVF transfer cycle. While we are grateful that this is an option we are also anxious about the heightened emotions and continued financial burdens that come with this decision. We have spent over $35,000 so far to get to this point. A great deal of this was in the egg retrieval, insemination, genetic testing, and freezing of the embryos. That being said each transfer cycle to include thawing, medications, labs, monitoring, and the physical transfer costs $5,000-7,000 each.

Our hearts are so grateful for the amount of positive vibes, manifesting, prayers, well wishes, comforting hugs, and encouragement that many of you have given us during our journey. After much thought and consideration, we have decided to lean into your love and support in anticipation of welcoming a child into our family.

We are asking you to join us in our journey by offering financial support as we embark on IVF. We understand this is a non-traditional approach to show support for welcoming a new baby, but as insurance doesn’t cover fertility treatments/ IVF, we are faced with the task of paying for this treatment out-of-pocket. We have exhausted the aforementioned funds we have painstakingly saved and set aside. We would forever be grateful and appreciate any help that we can get to make our dreams a reality.

We are hoping to raise $5,500 to put toward our next transfer cycle that our doctor wants to start with intention of the 2nd transfer being in 2 months. Any donations made will be used to pay for our appointments with the fertility doctor, monitoring appointments including ultrasounds and blood draws, medications (more shots :( ), and embryo transfer.

Feel free to share our story with other generous hearts! If you are unable to support financially at this time, please bless us with a simple share to social media to help us touch more people.

Once again, thank you for your love and support. Please continue sending your kind thoughts, prayers, well wishes, love, and encouragement our way. They make the hard days more bearable and the good days that much more beautiful.

From The Bottom of our Hopeful Hearts,
Jacquie and Samantha
