Journey to Robert's Kidney Transplant.

Welcome to my GoFundMe website, Journey to Transplant. I found out while in hospital in December 2019 that I have Stage 5 Kidney Disease, ESRD. I struggled with this diagnosis for a chunk of 2020. It took me three more visits in the hospital to admit that I really did have a problem!

I finally pulled my head out started dialysis in August of 2020, again while in hospital. I have been in dialysis three days a week, four hours a day as an outpatient since that time. It is keeping me alive! I am grateful daily! Ultimately I decided I did not want to spend the rest of my life doing dialysis. Especially since I have a goal to live 101 years.

Thus began my Journey to Transplant. I've been telling my doctors I need a 40 year kidney! They just look at me and smile. I know I'm going to rack up a huge pile of medical bills. I'm going to be proactive and try to get ahead of the curve. So I started my GoFundMe now. I'm planning on having my bright and shiny new kidney by the end of 2021. I'm working on fundraising now!
