Hoping for Baby Jaquez

Jesse and Sam Jaquez have been trying to grow their family for the past 4 and a half years. If you know them, you know this journey has been filled with unexpected obstacles and heartache. After years of trying to conceive, they began fertility treatment. They were soon interrupted by abnormal test results. In February of 2019 Sam was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. She immediately began treatment to fight the cancer and after 6 months, the cancer was gone. This victory was short lived, however. Only 3 months later, in November 2019, the cancer was back. Cancer treatment resumed, along with waiting and hoping to someday be able to grow their family.
After nearly a year of more aggressive treatment, October 2020 meets them with devastating news. The treatment is not working. The cancer is still growing. Sam’s doctor has made it clear that, for the sake of Sam's health and life, treatment aimed at preserving her uterus is no longer an option. She must have a hysterectomy as soon as possible.
As they have walked the deep valleys of this journey, Sam and Jesse have been refined in painfully beautiful ways. They have unwavering faith that God is good and they can trust him, even in this great sorrow.
Though this new development closes the door to their desire to conceive a child on their own, they know they still have other potential paths to parenthood. With surgery just around the corner (maybe late October or early November), they are working to preserve Sam's eggs for the possibility of surrogacy. This path has a lot of unknowns at this point. Over the next month they hope to get more answers, and hopefully confirm that surrogacy is an option for them. They anticipate the first steps on this path to cost about $7500. This includes egg retrieval, medications, some lodging expenses and missed wages, as Sam has exhausted her sick time over this past year.
Jesse and Sam have been aided in this journey thus far by the prayers and encouragement of those around them. Friends, family, now is our opportunity to join our prayers and encouragement for the Jaquez family with practical provision. We have the ability to lighten their burden as they continue on this journey. Please consider supporting them with a financial gift at this time. They would be forever grateful.
