Joy and Chris Zimbelman’s medical expenses

UPDATE: Thank you to each one who so generously gave to Chris and Joy earlier on. Your donations made it possible for them to get a reliable used vehical and make many trips to Seattle.....5 hours one way. We are happy to tell you all that after 5 failed attempts Chris FINALLY received a new liver last Friday night. However he had some complications and was taken back into surgery Saturday evening to repair his aorta and stop some bleeding! He is behind schedual and not doing as well as he could be which but he IS healing! Joy spent 5 nights in his hospital room and was exhausted. Her first real meal consisted of a burger, fries and a piece of pie for $26! This gives you a small idea of what financial strain they will be under while in Seattle. Once Chris is released he will be transferred to a Transplant Apartment for 90 to 100 days. Joy can go to it now but the cost for her is $160 per night. This seems a better solution tho since she gets free parking there (It is $10 a day at the hospital) and she can do laundry and cook for herself! Her hotel was $125 per night. So this week alone just for a place to sleep has cost her $2600 and she has parking or taxi cost plus food on top of that! I asked her what grocery prices are there and she said 1 lb of hamburger is $12 and a 12 pkg of coke is $19! We are coming to you all once again to ask that if you can spare anything to help their situation you would consider it! She will return to work when he is released and has settled in but till then.....anything would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
