Help Joy Recover from Flooding Damage

Hi! My name is Jennie Mack and I am raising funds for Joy Holhut, my coworker for the past 5 and a half years. On Friday July 21, the creek next to Joy’s home overflowed its bank and breached after receiving eight inches of rain in one day and news reported 4 inches in one hour. This resulted in severe flooding in her home and driveway. Her basement flooded, her long unpaved driveway washed away, and she experienced leaking in her family room ceiling. Joy does not have flood insurance, as most in the area with a tiny creek do not, so she will have to pay to fix these issues out of pocket, which will cause great financial hardship. Joy is widowed so only her paycheck supports her and her cats. Joy has lived in her home for 26 years and said nothing so severe has ever happened. Joy has been working full-time at her present job for 39 years.
