Joy Riders Duet Bike Campaign

Tax deductible

Joy Riders, in partnership with the Veterans Leadership Program of Pittsburgh, is adding a 3rd location for bike rides in the spring! Individuals of all ages who have physical limitations will now be able to enjoy a scenic ride in Pittsburgh along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. The trail runs from Millvale to the North Shore and offers a spectacular view of the city's rivers, stadiums and skyline. The bike will be operated by specially trained volunteers, just as Margarita and Dianne have been trained, and there is no charge to enjoy a ride.

Joy Riders, established in 2018 by Karen and Dave Primm, of Smithton, Pa, and the Mighty Tri Girls provides bike rides to anyone wanting to ride but can't physically do so.  Their current locations are in Rostraver, along the Great Allegheny Passage and in Greensburg.

Through the generosity of The Three Rivers Rowing Association (TRRA), the bike will be housed at the Millvale Boathouse. Rides will begin there.

We are excited to be ready to roll in all 3 locations this spring. To make that happen, our Pittsburgh location needs a bike!

The bike, known as a Duet, costs $10,000.  It is specially manufactured with a fully adjustable wheelchair in front and an electric-assist bicycle in back.

Please consider making a donation of any amount toward the purchase of this           adventure-inspiring bike. Thank you!
