✨ "Spread Joy this Christmas - Support Children and Families in Need!" ✨
This Christmas, let's come together to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. As seen on the BBC News and in local newspapers last year, our Christmas Campaign, "Joy this Christmas," is all about bringing happiness to children and families who need it the most.
Joy this Christmas was set up in 2018, to support local schools bring some happiness to children whose families are struggling financially. With your generous donations, we can provide them with the gift of joy and self worth by ensuring they have presents too, on Christmas morning.
Each child will receive a large gift bag each, which would normally include the following: a selection of books, selection of small toys or something the child would like (football and goalie gloves, doll and pram, ride on bike, board games, creative sets, building bricks / Lego, action figures etc), pyjama’s, hat and scarf sets and goodies such as selection boxes and hot chocolate.
At Joy this Christmas, we aim to build each bag of gifts around the child's likes / dislikes and wishes. We ask the families as many questions as possible, to make sure that every child knows that we see them and value their individuality - this means if a child loves to read a certain book - we will do all we can to gift the collection to them or maybe they love sport and a particular team, or arts and crafts, science or music. Everyone is different and we want to celebrate that by doing all we can to match your donations to the right child.
Thanks to the overwhelming amount of support received last year, we managed to raise over £2000, alongside receiving gifts from our Amazon wish list and donations of new and pre loved toys and clothing. The Go Fund Me donations were used to help us buy coats, a huge selection of games and toys, books, batteries, selection boxes, slippers, hats, gloves, and jumpers.
Each year we reach out to additional schools to offer our support - your donations last year enabled us to reach out to another 2 schools just before they broke up for the holidays. This meant we were able to support 253 children and their families to have a brighter Christmas. Thank you!
How can you help?
Please share this link with as many people as you can and if possible donate. A donation of just £1 will enable us to buy a selection box, a colouring book or a pair of gloves, a donation of £5 will enable us to buy a toy and donations of £10 and over will enable us to buy several toys and even a coat.
