Joyce Schlegel

First of all, Joyce will be the beneficiary of the funds raised, not Rich.

Joyce is our friend who started working for the Insurance Board of Greater Cleveland in 1990 as a secretary and eventually became the Executive Assistant, continuing through the evolution of the Insurance Board of Northern Ohio in 2001, up until her well-deserved retirement in 2013. Basically, Joyce became the face of these organizations as she worked tirelessly handling all the day-to-day operations and organizing events.

Her family's winter home was in Fort Myers, Florida since her parents purchased the property in 1982. In January 2022 a tornado blew through their community and completely destroyed their home and personal belongings. The home was beyond repair and leveled a few months later.

Fast forward to September 2022 when her and her sister were visiting with friends when Ian struck and destroyed their community again, including their things in a storage unit and her vehicle.

I am starting this fundraiser to raise money for her financial losses that weren't covered by any insurance. Joyce has always enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida with her countless friends and all has been lost.
