Joy's Second Chance At Life

Hi, my name is Stephanie; together with Mama Joy (Ruth), we are fundraising for my best friend, Joy, who is like a sister to me. On August 13th, 2022, she got into an accident that caused her Brain trauma. The doctors have told us that Joy's further treatment needs a non-trauma Brain Neurological Rehabilitation Center, which is unavailable in Albania. She needs to be transferred to a different country for Neurological Rehabilitation. Italy was our main option however; we are still waiting for a response. Meanwhile, we are in communication with Biruni University Hospital in Turkey for further treatment of Neurological therapy. The quotation we’ve received requires a down payment of 50.000 euros, the Air ambulance is 15.000 euros and the cost of treatment is 100.000-120.000 euros. This is attached below in the updates.

I was on a video call with my best friend when she had just gotten home from work and her phone hung up! Two days later, which would have been her six months anniversary in Albania, where she went to work, she was found behind the building she was residing in and left to die. The doctors pronounced her dead, but God decided her time on earth was not over! Due to no oxygen reaching her brain, she was in ICU for two months learning how to breathe again; she also had three broken ribs on both sides and both hip bones broken. Joy is now in a Ward, able to breathe independently through the trachea. However, she is still in a comatose and in vegetative state whereby she can open her eyes more stronger, her contracted hands are almost straightened but her left knee is still unable to bend. Through physiotherapy, her contracted body has been able to relax and she is currently practicing sitting in a wheelchair. We are in a period of waiting for her to start functioning and responding.

Joy and her mom need to travel to Turkey for the treatment she needs. In the update section, I have attached an invoice from Biruni University Hospital. We pray for justice to prevail regarding her case. As a family, we are devastated, but we decided to focus on her health and be there for her emotionally and spiritually. Her mother is there beside her physically with the help of others to care for Joy. She is only 22 years of age and happened to celebrate her 22nd birthday in the ICU bed.
