Fundraising for the Late Abba Kidane Charity
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Abba Kidane was the backbone of our community, he was our leader, our priest and our father. He was all to us; he cared for many like his own children and ensured that we all were strong in our faith. Regardless of people’s individual beliefs, he treated all with the same love and respect. He built our community and without him, we would not have been here honouring God as he showed us what it means to be true Catholics and he showed us the true meaning of religion. There are not enough words to express how big this loss has been for us all. We all have our own special memories with Abatie; he was a father to all of us and loved us from his heart. He went over and beyond to provide us with the best education. He taught us lessons not just in our faith but in life too. Abba Kidane was a blessing to us, he was a true definition of a man of God and never stopped helping people even when his health wasn’t at its best. We could not hope for a better father and leader.
We are members of the Holy Holy Redeemer Eritrean Catholic Gheez Rite Chaplaincy Catholic Gheez Rite Chaplaincy in London who organized the Gofundme Fund in Abba Kidane Lebasi’s name to support his charity in Eritrea. While alive, Abba Kidane had helped build the church of Kidane Mehret in his native village Emba-derho, Eritrea. At this moment, the church really needs a full renovation. We believe renovating this church would be one the priorities in Abatie’s heart. So we would like to contribute to that end in every way we can. And we know that this is shared by many of Abatie’s spiritual children and friends.
