Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to look at this page and helping support and giving towards Cameron a tricycle. We are in the process of getting Cam a trike of his very own. That way he could have fun with his siblings and other children riding a bike. This also helps with strengthening his leg muscles. Unfortunately, insurance has denied him twice on helping pay for Cam’s custom tricycle. Mobility seating has kept his invoice and it will cost $6000 for him a trike. Pricey, we know. This bike is custom just for Cam. It is made with his measurements and everything he needs on the trike to keep him safe and to help him therapeutic wise.
Cameron has rare disabilities,
septo-optic dysplasia, schizencephaly, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.
•Septo-optic dysplasia (SOD) is a rare disorder characterized by abnormal development of the optic disk, pituitary deficiencies, and often agenesis (absence) of the septum pellucidum (the part of the brain that separates the anterior horns or the lateral ventricles of the brain)
Cam’s optic nerve is healthy and not damaged just developed very small.
Which he is Blind, Dr’s say If he is able to see it would be know more than a size of a laser pen light. He does visual therapy for this condition to help with his nystagmus and to teach him light is good.
• Schizencephaly is an extremely rare developmental birth defect characterized by abnormal slits, or clefts, in the cerebral hemispheres of the brain.
Cams Neuro Dr explained as if it was someone with cleft lip but in his brain. Cam has Open and closed Laterals in his brain.
Cams schiz has caused muscle atrophy on the left side of his body. That he works hard to keep his muscles strong.
Cam is in Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
• Lennox-Gastaut syndrome is a severe form of epilepsy. Seizures begin in early childhood, usually before the age of 4 years. Children, adolescents, and adults with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome have multiple types of seizures that vary among individuals.
Cameron has multiple seizures at the same time,
his little brain is always having an electric storm going on in his brain.
Even with all of his conditions, he is the happiest little boy as well as a hard-working child. Everything is a challenge for him but he amazes me with every little milestone he achieves and when he does we celebrate it loud and proud for him. ♥️
Cameron is a Joy and a Light in everyone’s life.
