Jr. Deputy Program in Spalding County, Georgia

Tax deductible
This year the Jr. Deputy Program is proud to announce it's 75th Anniversary in Spalding County, Georgia. Back in the 1940's the program began taking students to Washington, DC as part of the AAA School Patrol Program. Back then it was segregated. Girls were not allowed to go at all, white boys went to Washington, DC and black boys went to Tuskegee, Alabama. Thanks goodness we have come a long way since then! With the help of the Spalding County Sheriff's Office, and Sheriff Darrell Dix, the program now consists of several youth programs under the umbrella of the Spalding County Jr. Deputy Program, which is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We now have the CHAMPS (a program that promotes child participation in health activities that are drug and alcohol-free, non-violent, and promote safety), the Jr. Cadet Program (a program for teenagers ages 14-20, who have an interest in becoming a law enforcement officer and train on law enforcement techniques), CHAMPS free summer camps, Santa Sheriff and numerous other community outreach events and programs.

Donations will help fund all programs in the SCJDP and it also helps us keep the price of the Washington, DC trip for the 6th graders as low as possible so more students are able to attend. The trip price is $650, which includes everything except spending money for souvenirs. But the cost per student is approximately $950 per student. So all donations are appreciated!
