Ingrid's Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
My mum had a stroke on August 21st, 2011 and permantly lost the use of her left side. She spent her first 6 months in hospital, and the path to recovery has since been a slow and taxing one.
We have been fortunate so far with our disability pension and living expenses, but also my mum's physio and access to getting out of the house. However, she has recently had a bad fall from her day bed and has consequently broken her paralysed femur. Learning to walk was always a goal in our sights, but now she cannot return home as she needs intensive full time care.
What I am asking for is help with the purchase of a new vehicle that we will be able to use to take her places in comfort. It will be a van equipped with a wheelchair lift, the only mode of access now possible since her recent misadventure. We know this endeavour will improve her quality of life, and she deserves it.
Please consider donating $10 and telling all your friends.
Thank you,
Michael and Zahra
