Support Walter's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, everyone. My name is Skylr Daczka, and I’m reaching out for help on behalf of my friend Sophie Kirtley and her beloved dog, Walter. Walter just turned one earlier this year, and he’s the sweetest, happiest little guy—always full of love and joy.
Yesterday morning (11/4), Walter’s life took a sudden and frightening turn. He wouldn’t come out of his crate, and when he tried to stand, he collapsed in pain. He was rushed him to the emergency vet, fearing he might have a neurological condition leading to paralysis. After several tests and consultations with specialists, Walter was diagnosed with IMPA (Immune-Mediated Polyarthritis), a painful condition that causes severe joint inflammation and requires long-term care.
IMPA is a chronic condition, which means Walter will need ongoing treatment and monitoring to manage his symptoms. He’s currently on medication to reduce inflammation and pain, but his long-term care will likely include steroid and immune-suppressant therapy to help him live as comfortably as possible.
The costs of Walter’s emergency vet visit, specialist consultations, diagnostics, and future treatments have quickly added up. Sophie is a full-time student, making these sudden expenses even harder to handle. To give Walter the best chance at a happy, pain-free life, we’re aiming to raise $5,000 to cover his medical expenses and ongoing care.
Walter is an absolute joy—a sweet, playful pup who has brought endless love and happiness to Sophie and all of us. It’s heartbreaking to see him in pain, and we want to do everything possible to help him recover. Any donation, big or small, will make a tremendous difference for Walter. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others who might be able to lend a hand.
Thank you so much for reading Walter’s story and for any support you can offer. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean the world to us. With your help, we’re hopeful that Walter will soon be back to his cheerful, tail-wagging self.
