Help Sophia go to College !

 

Hi Everyone! My name is Sophia Carrasco and I am a senior in high school. I have worked extremely hard in school these past 4 years of high school maintaining a 4.2 GPA while working a part-time job to help pay for my expenses. I will be graduating with honors this summer and I've already received acceptance letters from several universities such as GCU, PLNU, CSUSM, CSULB, UC Riverside, UC Merced, Penn State, and SDSU, and I'll be choosing one of them in the coming weeks. I began volunteering at my local church when I was ten years old by helping in the Sunday School Ministry. Later, I joined the welcome team, continued with the media team, and now I collaborate with the creative and worship teams.

As good as life might sound for me, life hasn't always been in my favor. I was raised by a very strong and brilliant single mom who worked extremely hard to help me get to where I am today. Finances have always been tough which is why paying for college has become a big financial burden for my mom and I. I have been working hard completing essays for scholarships, hoping to be eligible for something there. Unfortunately, I fall into a category where the amount of financial assistance I qualify for is too low and I am not eligible to apply for the large-payer scholarships. So any donation is appreciated and will help so much more than you probably know. I am grateful for all the donations I have already received, and please know that every donation is helping me achieve a lifelong goal of mine of becoming the first person in my family to attend a 4- year university.
