UPDATE 10.28.22 LOVE is in the Air

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Lynne Driscoll.

Let me introduce you to Jru Driscoll, my firstborn grandson, age 20.  He was born the day after 911 with his own set of challenges that will always be with him, yet not define him.  Jru received his father's (my son’s) kidney at two years of age.  While his kidney has served him well, it is not unusual for the organ itself to have an expiration date.  This is where we find ourselves after 18 years from receiving his dad’s  transplanted kidney, therefore timing is pushing me to share this story.

Meet Jru!  Music and aviation have surrounded Jru since he was born.  His parents traveled on the road with him as a young child while they supported the evangelistic music ministry of his grandfather.  Jru himself is very artistic with several original songs recorded, music videos, and TV commercials.  As he approached teen-hood, the desire for aviation knowledge increased within him.  At the age of 18, Jru started his flying desires as a licensed pilot.  He now has acquired a "single engine rating" and "instrument engine rating."  He has a vision,to be a flight instructor, ultimately with his own single engine airplane to train students to fly.
UPDATE at 10/27/22
Jru is only 18 flying hours from his goal needed of 250 to get the licenses I mention below

As a grandmother, I'm so proud that he has such a clear direction at such a young age.

Currently, he has passed the written exams for both certified flight instructor and certified flight instructor/instrument.  He has yet to fly the amount of hours in the air needed to fully complete these two licenses.

Here is where you can play a part!

We have a deadline to meet.  Jru’s goal is to complete these two tasks before his next kidney transplant, which is coming up before the years end or sooner.  The donor, his mom, is in place, and the ball and systems are moving forward.

What is required of Jru is a large amount of hours renting the plane with fuel and added instructor/examiner fees.

Being the summer, weather is popping up daily that can and does affect timing, causing delays.  NEVERTHELESS, we have a goal!

Our goal is to help Jru finish and get these licenses by the time he turns 21, which will be on September 12th.

We want to help Jru complete these last two licenses so that he can be ready to instruct new pilots after his new transplant is all settled in.

I am asking you if you can help with any financial gift.

The way GoFundMe works:  This fund will be linked to Jrus bank account which he has set up for this purpose. It will go directly to Jru.

If you are reading the story, you know me or know me indirectly through a friend.

I believe that life should be full of sharing, caring, and community with each other.  I can truly say, with heartfelt sincerity, that Jru exemplifies this belief through his passion and enthusiasm for flying.  This young man is always uplifting others and encouraging everyone around him to look up, myself included.

Thank you for taking the time to stay and listen.

Thank you for your financial support to Jru in any amount.

I hope you can see how proud I am to have Jru as my grandson and how eager I am to see him accomplish his dreams and goals.

I pray for many blessings to come your way.
