The Carney Family
Tom, April, SuEllen (5yrs old), and Pate (2 years old) live in Aurora, Texas right outside of Fort Worth. Tom is a professional cutting horse trainer and April is a project manager at her father’s sign company. SuEllen attends Trinity Christian Academy and Pate attends a mother’s day out program at their church, Trinity Bible Church.
The Carney Family lives on the same property Tom’s training facility are located. So, basically they live where they work and work where they live, like so many agricultural families do. With that said they enjoy most of their family time together outside while Tom is working.
Tuesday, January 27, 2016, The Carney Family was met with the shocking upset of their home on fire while all in the back bedroom. They were protected by God and were able to get out safely. Their small daughter, SuEllen, noticed the fire when she opened the bedroom door. They were able to exit the home in about 30 seconds and shortly thereafter the kitchen and living room became engulfed in flames and smoke. It seems that the fire began somewhere around the stove area but, the cause is still unknown. After accessing the damages today in daylight much of their things are unsalvageable. And they also, found out that the insurance policy that they carried for Tom’s business did not cover any of their losses. They are of course stressed with all the things to come but, are greatly appreciative of all the love and support they have received from relatives, friends, and neighbors. The prayers and kind words have helped to uplift their spirits.
This disaster has left the Carney’s to have to make the tough decision to have to split the family up into two different locations since the home is unlivable. Tom must stay with the livestock. So, he is staying in the living quarters of one of his generous customer’s horse trailer. April and the children are staying with her parents in Fort Worth about 45 minutes away. And the hope is that they will get to visit each other as much as possible until other living arrangements can be made.
Our God is an awesome God and will hold their hands and hearts as they go down this difficult path together.
