Support Dan's Fight Against Aggressive Leukemia

Donation protected
My name is Tralene and this is a picture of my beautiful sister Jennifer and her amazing husband Dan. On Sunday, March 2nd, I received a phone call from my sister Jennifer that I never expected. My sister's husband, Dan, had gone to the hospital sick with what they and the doctors thought was the flu. While there, the doctor did some routine blood work and sent it off to the lab. A couple of days later, the doctor contacted them to tell them that the lab had seen something in the results that worried them so much that they decided to test for cancer. It came back positive for leukemia. They were referred to an oncologist to go see on Tuesday, March 18th. My sister and Dan were hopeful that the cancer would be mild and caught early. Unfortunately, that is not the case. They were given the devastating news that he has an extremely aggressive form of cancer and instructed them to drive the next day to a hospital in Westchester NY, which is about 2 hours away from where they live so that he could be admitted immediately. Yesterday they drove to Westchester where they spent the entire day getting admitted, having multiple tests, and meeting with an oncologist about a treatment plan. The doctor told them that he will be in the hospital for at least a month to start.

Jen and Dan have been together for 17 years. As a matter of fact, our whole family and Dan's family have known each other since we were little kids. Dan is 40 years young. He is a kind, thoughtful, and loving person. He is a dedicated husband and extremely hard worker. Everyone loves Dan and my sister. They have huge hearts and are always helping their friends and family. Dan has fought through many tough times in his life but now he is facing the biggest fight of all...the fight for his life.

This is just the beginning of a very long road for them. Dan had just started a new job that he loves a couple of months ago and now he was told that he can no longer work. My sister is a proud person and she never asks anyone for help. When she told me that disability will only give Dan about $35 a month, I knew that I needed to do something to help them. Since I live in Michigan and they live in New York I asked them if I could set this up for them and they said yes.

Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated and will go a long way in covering medical expenses, travel expenses, and bills since he can no longer work and will allow Dan to focus on fighting this cancer. Thank you soo very much.
