Give the Gift of New Life to Katie
Donation protected
THIS CAMPAIGN IS NOT OVER! Katie and Daniel are both touched and overwhelmed with the generosity you have all shown in donating and sharing. It has allowed Katie to pay a deposit for the egg harvesting. The procedure was done on Saturday, 17 November and they retrieved 26 eggs! She is doing well but is still recovering.
She begins her chemotherapy this week and will continue for up to six months of treatments.
WHY isn’t the campaign over? Because the $18,000 amount here is not the total amount of expenses related to the egg harvesting; it is the beginning of the process for them, so they are still in need of the full funding to realize their dream of parenthood. There are monthly fees to store the embryos, future medications and procedures that will be needed to get Katie pregnant.
Now that she has the peace of mind that their embryos are in good hands, Katie now turns her focus to beating this lymphoma for good. Most of us know someone who has had cancer. And along with the horrid treatments and the even worse side effects they produce while trying to save lives, it is easy to feel hopeless. No matter the type or stage of the disease, every cancer patient is asked to focus on a goal to get through; being a mother is Katie’s goal. That goal, that dream is what will keep her strong and fighting for a future with her, Daniel and their baby. Please help her to achieve it.
We will keep you updated right here on Katie's fight against lymphoma and the eventual road to parenthood. Once again, THANK YOU!
Katie was recently diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Having just been married this past August, she and her husband, Daniel, had started to try for a family when Katie fell ill. Her chemotherapy begins in two short weeks which may, unfortunately, leave Katie unable to have children. The procedure to have eggs harvested is a possibility; however, it is expensive and not covered by insurance. Please donate what you can and share this page to give Katie the peace of mind that, once they get beyond this tragedy, she will be able to do what she so desperately wants: to start a family with Daniel.
