Juan Blignaut Family Expenses

Juan Blignaut, age 45 came to the US from Uitenhage, Eastern Cape, So. Africa. He is the husband of Christy Brown and father of Brody age 6 and has recently been diagnosed with a rare, difficult to diagnose, Stage 4 Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma.

This aggressive cancer followed a painful illness with lost time from his work as a server at the Princess and previously the Four Seasons Resort both in Scottsdale, AZ. Christy, his wife, was forced to leave her job at Amazon to accompany Juan to the many Doctors and medical tests required to determine the source of his intense pain.

Juan is currently receiving a modest 90-day short-term disability allowance, due to expire in December of 2019. His approved long-term SS Disability is not expected until April of 2020. Christy has reduced their cost of living expenses to bare bones, eliminated 1 car but this family still needs our help to pay their rent, avoid eviction and pay other expenses caused by this catastrophic event.

I am asking you open your hearts and give as generously as you can to enable this family to survive for the next 6 months. The goal is to raise $20,000 to enable them to focus on Juan’s treatments. These funds will be used to pay their back/ongoing rent to avoid eviction, pay $8,000 out of pocket medical costs and survive with no income until April of 2020 when their SS disability payments arrive.
