- Update from this beautiful family! Please read! First, we want to thank everyone who helped us with prayers and donations in January when Juan suffered the stroke. We also thank our dear friend, David, for creating this Go-Fund-Me on our behalf, and TNT (Juan’s employer) for all the help they have given us. It was such a blessing and an encouragement to see how Juan and our family are greatly loved by all of you. For many months our hope was that Juan would soon recover and return to work. But the stroke he suffered was huge and it caused two speech disorders, aphasia and apraxia. Juan has been in speech and occupational therapy 6 hours a day, 5 days per week since the stroke. After 5 months Juan is able to say, read and write a few words and phrases. Our biggest request is that you continue to pray with us for a miracle in Juan’s recovery. After five months, our savings and the monetary donations we received have run out. We finally had to file for disability, but that is a process that will take more than 5 months to resolve. I share our struggles with you because we are at a point where we need help to meet our basic necessities and soon, we will face the risk of losing our house. If you are able to help with any amount, we will be forever grateful to you. As most of you know, my work as a substitute teacher pauses in the summer. I am looking for more employment and Diego has also applied for several jobs. If you know of any employment opportunities for us we would greatly appreciate the information. Please text me. We thank God daily that even though his stroke was massive, he is with us today, which is what matters most. We are also grateful because Juan has significantly improved in his physical ability, even though initially he was told he would never walk again. - Primero, quiero agradecer a todos los que nos ayudaron con sus oraciones y donaciones en enero cuando Juan sufrió la embolia. También agradecemos a nuestro querido amigo, David, por crear este Go-Fund-Me en nuestro nombre, y a TNT (el empleador de Juan) por toda la ayuda que nos han dado. Fue una bendición y nos dio tanto animo ver cómo Juan y nuestra familia son muy amados por todos ustedes. Durante muchos meses nuestra esperanza fue que Juan se recuperaría pronto y regresaria a trabajar. Pero la embolia que sufrió fue muy grande y causó dos trastornos del habla, la afasia y la apraxia. Juan ha estado en terapia ocupacional y del habla 6 horas al día, 5 días a la semana desde la embolia. Despues de 5 meses Juan puede decir, leer o escribir algunas palabras y frases. Nuestro mayor pedido es que continúen orando con nosotros por un milagro en la recuperación de Juan. Después de cinco meses, nuestros ahorros y las donaciones monetarias que recibimos se han acabado. Finalmente tuvimos que aplicar para incapacidad, pero ese es un proceso que tardará más de 5 meses en resolverse. Comparto nuestras luchas con ustedes porque estamos en un punto en el que necesitamos ayuda para cubriar necesidades básicas y pronto enfrentaremos el riesgo de perder nuestra casa. Si puede ayudar con cualquier cantidad, le estaremos eternamente agradecidos. Como mucho de ustedes saben, mi trabajo como maesta suplente se detiene en el verano. Estoy buscando más empleo y Diego también ha aplicado para varios trabajos. Si saben de alguna oportunidad de empleo para nosotros les agradeceríamos mucho la información. Por favor, envíenme un texto. Damos gracias a Dios a diario que a pesar de que su embolia fue masiva, hoy está con nosotros, que es lo más importante. También estamos agradecidos porque Juan ha mejorado significativamente en su abilidad física, aunque inicialmente nos habian dicho que nunca volvería a caminar. Nunca podremos agradecerles lo suficiente por su amor y oraciones mientras hemos enfrentado esta lucha, pero pueden contar con nuestra sincera amistad y gratitud para siempre.
