Juan’s Multiple Myeloma & Funeral Expenses

December 25th, 2020 Juan’s children picked him up for morning breakfast when they noticed that he wasn’t looking right. He was pale (a grayish color), having difficulties breathing and weak. Sure that he needed to go to the hospital they dropped him off, thinking that he was dealing with fluid build up from his Congestive Heart Failure and COPD. He was extremely bloated and couldn’t find anything that fit him, despite his daughter (Alyssa) recently buying new clothes for him. His 02 level was at 88 and they were quick to get him oxygen. He was soon admitted to the hospital where they determined his kidneys are shutting down an him. They’ve been described as “toothpicks”.

Juan is the loving father to his son Juan (John of the same name) and daughters: Naomi, Daniella, Sara, Yasmine & Alyssa. Due to the second wave of COVID-19 his loved ones aren’t able to be in the hospital with him.

Juan has: diabetes, COPD, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, asthma and is now facing a battle with kidney cancer. The physician had stated that if he didn’t come in when he did he would more than likely be dead by now.

This GoFundMe is to help support Juan’s road to recovery. He currently lives alone and will no longer be able to remain by himself. His job involves lifting and carrying heavy furniture and driving the delivery truck, which he will no longer be able to drive to do; while recovering on dialysis, which he starts December 29th. Juan’s faith does not allow him to accept blood or organs, which makes this more critical. This GoFundMe was started by his children as a means of hopefully helping him transition into moving in with one of his kids to be monitored and assisted and to cover bills/expenses.

The pandemic has hit us all in one way or another and we thank anyone who can give anything that they can. We’d love to see him make it to at least watch his youngest daughter (Sara) get married.
