Hi! My name is Julie. I am a friend of Judi Byers, and my kids are also part of Kern Youth Rugby.

Judi Byers is a light. You would find it hard to encounter anyone with more joy. Her love and compassion overflow.

Some months ago, Judi found out that she has colon cancer. She has been fighting fiercely in recent months, undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments, and remarkably, she continues to show up for others. Her husband, kids, friends, and Kern Youth Rugby all know this to be true.

Colon cancer treatment is intense. Not only does it drain time and energy, but it drains the bank account. Medical insurance is truly a blessing, but it does not cover everything. Medical bills roll in and add up quickly; the "patient is responsible for" amounts can be overwhelming.

In a recent chat with Judi, I found out she needs another PET scan. It is my understanding that the cost for a PET scan is approximately $2500, and insurance is resisting. I know the timing of tests and treatment is important.

So, let's rally together and get this PET scan covered! Let this be something the Byers family does not have to worry about! Let's lift this burden for them!
