Hey all, My name is Alex and I am fundraising for our beloved Mum (Jude).

On the 8th of August 2023, our wonderful mother sadly passed away after suffering a Brain Hemorrhage. After battling immensely for 5 years with various health issues it was a shock to us all.

In true Jude style, she went out how she wanted to on her terms.

We're fundraising to get a bench on Hythe Beach to remember the 'good ol bad days' from the 'Mainers'.

Mum often spoke of her time in the "Mariners" as some of the best years of her life. Mum loved the idea of a bench in the town that never knew a 'lock in' like hers.

Unfortunately, mums passing was so sudden and unexpected that nothing was put in place to enable this to happen.

I have been asked various times, where people can send flowers to and as much as this is a beautiful and appreciated gesture. I believe any help I can muster in order to get one of my mum's wishes to come true would be amazing. This would help to achieve that as well as give her family, friends and anyone who knew her a special place to raise a glass.

Update: 15/09/2023 - Firstly, I wanted to thank each and everyone of you for your kind donations and words of support. As you can imagine the last month or so has been a very difficult time for me. After mum retired from Eton College in Oct 2020, she needed full time care. Therefore, I relocated to be here for her. As much as I wouldn't change it for the world it has now left me extremely isolated from family & friends. So all of your donations, calls, cards, facetimes and kind words have been a huge comfort to me. Words couldn't express how thankful I truly am. Moreover, I have been in contact with Folkestone & Hythe District Council and the bench is in motion. Shall update here accordingly. Once again thank you so much, Kia Kaha, Love Alex xx
