Donate for Funeral arrangements for Judith Tarrell (Judy)

My name is Jessica Erickson and I am Judith Tarrell's daughter and I'm asking for help for upcoming funeral arrangements and saving my Mom's house from default taxes.

My Mom, Judith Tarrell, was found in her home unresponsive on Friday, June 28, 2024. I had been trying to reach her by phone and text all throughout the day. After work, I tried a couple more times. My husband and I went to her house to check on her. That is when we found mom unresponsive in her recliner without any air conditioner or fans on. Her loyal dog Roxy was waiting by her side. We immediately called 911, while waiting for the ambulance to arrive she stopped breathing on us twice. Mom was transported by ambulance to Adventist Health (Rideout) Hospital. When we were finally allowed to go and see her, she was already on a vent and life-support.

After further testing and an MRI, CVICU and Neurologist doctors told us that Mom had suffered from irreversible brain damage caused by multiple ischemic strokes.

The late evening of June 30th, the decision was made to put mom on comfort care.

Mom had not made any pre-planning burial care and there are not enough funds available.

A few months ago, I found out that Mom's house is in danger of default for non-payment of taxes. She is behind almost five years. That means that the house will belong to the county.

Break Down of Costs:

Estimate for plot at Sutter Cemetery (Opening, closing, setup, vault, tax, handling & setting fee) - $2,345.

Estimate for viewing and funeral service Holycross Funeral Home (Viewing, graveside) - $2,412

Estimate for metal casket (Mom did not want to be cremated) - 1,999

Estimate for Headstone - $2,000

Estimate for back property taxes -$5,000

Any extra to be used towards medical bills, her household bills.

We are all in shock and have no idea how costs will be covered at this time.
