It is with a heavy heart that I write this. As many of you know, Judith Yeckel unexpectedly passed away on December 15th, 2022. Her sad and untimely death was the result of unforeseen and overwhelming complications arising from an urgent, but fairly routine, cardiovascular procedure. What ought to have been a brief hospital stay turned into an ever-worsening three-week stint in the ICU before her husband of almost 40 years, Bob Davis, had to make the heartbreaking decision to honor Judith’s long-held wishes and remove her from life support. She passed away peacefully, without pain surrounded by her family that loved her so dearly.
Judith’s passing is naturally taking a heavy toll as we grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the support and condolences of Bob and Judith’s many friends, loved ones and colleagues. It is times like these when the meaning of “community” becomes acutely and abundantly clear. Judith will be remembered for the deep and lasting impact that she made on everyone that she touched. She was so much more than a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a creative light; a talented writer, a theatrical maven, and an exceptional intellectual. She made an impression that will never be forgotten in her community through her creative expression and passion for the arts.
As Bob is navigating this devastating loss, he needs our help. The mounting medical bills that were incurred from weeks in the ICU have been overwhelming. As he begins to plan her memorial service to honor her life, the out-of-pocket costs for him are continuing to rise. I ask that if you are able, please consider donating to help Bob with these mounting expenses. More than ever, Bob needs the support of his and Judith’s community, to help him through this difficult time. Any contribution, large or small, is greatly appreciated in helping to relieve him from this untimely financial burden. Your generosity means the world to us.
Much Love and Gratitude,
Devin (Judith’s Daughter-in-Law)
