Judy and Jill Christensen Home Destroyed
Donation protected
UPDATE: The town of Berlin and the surrounding communities have come together to show their love and support for Judy and Jill following the devastating fire that destroyed their home. The overwhelming outpour of generosity has resulted in a significant amount of money raised to help the family during this difficult time.
The generous donations will be utilized to cover Judy's funeral expenses and help Jill rebuild her life, having lost all her possessions in the fire. The community's generosity has been a source of comfort and hope for the family as they navigate this difficult situation.
Jill, who underwent surgery on her jaw this past Friday, is recovering as well as can be expected. For the next six weeks, she will be consuming a liquid diet consisting of smoothies and anything that can fit through a straw. Despite the challenges she faces, Jill remains grateful for the support and love shown by her community.
A memorial service for Judy will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, April 29, in First Parish Church of Berlin, 24 Central Street, Berlin. There are no public calling hours scheduled. Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough is honored to assist the Christensen family with services.

If you live in Berlin or the surrounding towns, you most likely have a great story about Judy. She was always the first person to lend a hand or her home to anyone who needed it. Countless men and women in town have used her house as a residence over the past six decades. Hotel Christensen, as it was known, because she was everyone's second mom.
On the morning of April 14th, an explosion destroyed her home, where she perished a day after her 79th birthday. During the blast, her daughter Jill was sleeping in her bed on the second floor and mercilessly survived thanks to the quick action of some heroic neighbors. Unfortunately, Jill lost all her belongings, along with her two cats and dog in the fire.
This is where I am reaching out to the broader community for help. I have set up this page to help cover the costs of her medical bills and Judy's funeral expenses. Your donation, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping this family get through this extremely difficult time.
