Judy Sabia's Cancer & Transplant Recovery Fund
Donation protected
My childhood friend, Judy Sabia -- born and raised in Dunmore, PA -- learned she had liver cancer in 2018. Her doctor told her she needed a liver transplant ASAP. After waiting 18 months for the right match, she finally received her new liver a year ago, in December 2019.
Shortly after her transplant, Judy faced yet another health complication. When they biopsied the removed liver, they also found a rare neuroendocrine tumor in her intestinal area. This type of cancer occurs in only 2% of the population. In March 2020, she had surgery to remove the tumor while still recovering from the transplant. Most recently, she is also dealing with skin cancer. It just seemed like the hits kept coming.
Judy is a fighter! She always has the best attitude about accepting these health challenges, because of her deep faith. We want to help her in this fight.
She currently travels back and forth to Philadelphia (to The University of Penn) on a regular basis for check-ups, scans, Covid-19 tests, etc. These events have taken a toll and significantly impacted Judy physically, emotionally, and financially. She has not worked since early 2018 and medical costs and living expenses are overwhelming. Judy and The Sabia Family would greatly appreciate your help, in relieving some of this burden.
Our goal is to raise at least $20,000 for our Judy!
Whether you can support financially or not ---- please keep Judy in your thoughts and prayers! Many thanks for your consideration.
