It's funny how, if you let it, life leads you exactly to the places you need to be.
My journey started when I was 4, in Richmond, B.C, when I picked up a hockey stick for the first time in my cousins garage. I didn't know it at the time, but that seemingly innocuous piece of sporting equipment would shape the rest of my life.
Hockey has given me a lot during our relationship, friends, memories, experiences a career and it continues to do so.
Recently, it has given me an opportunity I have dreamed of since I first picked up that stick. I have had the honor of being named to the Canadian Women's Ball Hockey national team competeing at the World Championships in Zug, Switzerland this summer. Putting on a jersey that represents an entire country is something that few ever get it is an opportunity, challenge and honour I’m looking forward to fully embracing.
In order to actually put that jersey on however, I need to get to Switzerland. Ball hockey is not at a point yet where they can support their athletes. Therefore, all expenses are out of our own pockets. Your donations will help with travel, training and other expenses related to competing in the World Championships. Every one of your dollars makes a difference, and I appreciate that greatly.
