Juhi Kim and Family hardship due to Covid

During this time the COVID pandemic, one of our students Juhi Kim at Earl Haig Secondary School suffered the tragic loss of her father Jungkyu Kim on Jan 20th, 2021 due to complication from the coronavirus. The family was not able to see the father to say farewell due to visitor restrictions at the hospital.  Juhi was the only one allowed in to say goodbye to her father.  The other children were able to see  their father on Thursday Jan 28th at his funeral.  The death of the head of the household, a father, a husband, a pastor has put the family in a state of shock.  As an immigrant family, Juhi had to translate for her parents while her father was in the hospital.   Currently the Korean community has stepped in to help with the funeral costs but due to the loss of the father, the family is now struggling to meet their financial obligations.  We are hoping to raise funds so that Juhi and her family will be able to recover, grieve, and find peace during these tumultuous times.   The two older children Juhe and Jusong are also former Earl Haig students.    Please help us raise funds to cover household expenses, time for the mother to recover (She also was very ill with COVID), and school expenses for the children who are currently in postsecondary institutions.  We are hoping that during this time our Earl Haig, North York and Toronto communities can gather around this family to show that they are not alone and that many people care for their well being.  Thank you for your support and concern.  All donations will be send directly to the family account.  The family is asking that contact be minimal as Juhi is still in shock and has not been able to come out of her bed nor eat since the passing of her father.
